Course Progression

We will schedule a home visit to meet you and your dog, allowing us to assess your home environment and understand your unique needs and preferences.
At the home visit, we will provide you with an audiobook, video, and workbook. These materials are designed to be studied in the days leading up to our first lesson. This pre-study will give you a foundational understanding of our lessons and serve as a starting point for our subsequent training sessions.

We will commence the training with a series of 6 sessions conducted at the comfort of your home. These sessions will be instrumental in establishing a strong foundation for training, addressing specific goals, and fostering a deep understanding of effective training techniques and practices.

This structured progression ensures a thorough and personalized approach to training, allowing for a strong bond and effective communication to develop between you and your dog. The home environment serves as a familiar and comfortable setting, optimizing the learning experience for both you and your furry companion.

Lessons

Our lessons will consist of the following:

Leash Walking and Jumping: Teaching a dog how to walk on a leash without pulling and how to avoid jumping on people is essential for their safety and social interactions.
Address Negative Behaviors: Issue such as housebreaking, aggression, chewing, barking, demanding behaviors and any other negative behavioral issues will be covered within these lessons.
Basic Commands: Teaching commands like sit, down, heel, and come is fundamental in dog training. These commands not only improve obedience but also enhance communication between the owner and the dog.
Building Trust and Confidence: Building trust between the dog and owner is vital. This is achieved through consistent training.
Bonding: Training sessions provide an excellent opportunity for bonding between the dog and owner. The more time and effort an owner invests in training, the stronger the bond will become and the more confident the dog will be.

Timeline

We will space sessions at least one week apart. This gives you and your dog much needed time to practice and master the skills we’ve learned in a session. This allows for proper conditioning of your dog.
During this one-week period, please take the time to work with your dog at least twice a day.
You also have the option to space lessons out further apart to reach the goals we have set.

If your dog suffers from extreme anxiety and fear, we suggest opting for private home lessons vs. boarding training.
